Sun-drenched days on Paros whisper of more than just the Aegean breeze. A hidden world unfolds as the scent of ripe grapes leads you to the rolling vineyards of Paros, each, a slice of paradise where the sun kisses the earth and whispers secrets in every sip. Ages hint their secrets in the soil as the Meltemi winds nourish every grape variety on the island. The grapes then weave their magic into captivating Parian wines, a story waiting to be uncorked.

A LEGACY IN EVERY SIP

The island’s unique microclimate has contributed significantly to its viticultural heritage, fostering the cultivation of exceptional grape varieties that thrive in this Greek island setting. This rich heritage of Parian viticulture is reflected in traditional techniques like “aplotaria”, where vines sprawl low to the ground, protected from the sun and wind. Modern methods have been incorporated alongside these practices, resulting in a blend of tradition and innovation. Paros is the custodian of the white Monemvasia grape variety, a legacy preserved since Venetian times. Rich red wines are produced using the Mandilaria grape, another prominent island variety. These two grapes are the heart of Paros’ PDO (Protected Designation of Origin) wines, ensuring the exceptional quality and unique character attributed to the island’s terroir.
