PISO LIVADI: ESCAPE TO A QUAINT SEASIDE VILLAGE IN ONLY TEN MINUTES!

Piso Livadi rests just a couple kilometres south of Marpissa, a five minute car ride from Summer Senses Luxury resort and half an hour from the port of Parikia. Once a quiet little port, Piso Livadi now boasts an array of traditional, family-friendly restaurants serving up the tastiest local dishes. After sun down the mood shifts to accommodate more bar-inclined guests, who enjoy their drinks and cocktails along with island beats and fresh Aegean breezes. 

Piso Livadi is also the starting point of unique explorations and excursions to the neighbouring islands. There is more than meets the eye here, however. Between Marpissa and the seaside settlement of Piso Livadi, stands the church of Saint George Thalassitis, translated from Greek into Saint George the Mariner, protector of those who travel the seas. Built between the 13th and 14th century it is one of the only four Byzantine churches on the island and stands out for its historical importance. Thus the chapel attracts many visitors, both religious and not, thanks to its uniquely decorated, although weathered, interiors depicting important religious scenes.
